I'm a big girl....

Today when my human got home she told me what a good girl I was. Now normally she always says I'm a good girl and gives me lots of love once she gets her coat off, but today was special.

This Christmas Mom folded up my metal crate to make space for the Christmas tree. This was the first time since I was adopted that I didn't have to go in my crate when Mom was at work - instead I got to stay in the bedroom which was nice, and I was a good girl all day for the whole month of December.

TODAY Mom said I could be loose in the house, not just the bedroom but the whole house! She put the garbage can on the table and made sure I had fun toys, bones and my kong was full - but then she went off to work saying "Be a good girl Dory and watch the house!" Well I was a good girl and I did watch the house and my human was very happy. She said the crate could stay folded up and put away unless we really need it. I am happy because my Mom trusts me to watch the house and Mom is happy because she used to call my crate an eye sore.

As part of my "big girl" celebration my had ordered a new collar for me from Kathleen over at SnazzyPetz!
It is a pretty pink collar, with adorable white snowflakes all over it. Kathleen and Wally Cat make the bestest collars!
Mom measures it next to my Christmas collar to make sure it is the right size. Kathleen made my plaid collar too!
Then my mom puts my tags on!
Mom says sorry for the not so good photos, her big fancy camera needs it's battery charged so she was using her small camera.
The photos don't really do my collar justice - it is EXTREMELY pretty on and very girly too!!!!! So even though it was a "Monday, no fun day" as Mom calls it - it turns out I really did have fun today and I love being a big girl who can behave when I am home alone.

Have a happy week everyone!!!!

Congrats on being left out Dory. That is a pretty collar. Mom likes the collars from SnazzyPetz she says she just wishes that there were more cool boy ones.

WOO WOO WOO! How lucky! Mama still doesn't trust me outside the crate when I'm alone. With good reason, I s'pose.

WOOF WOOF! I'm excited for you! I have to stay in the kitchen when mom and dad are gone. They put up a baby gate. Can you imagine? I'm not a baby.

Your collar is very pretty and the color is good with your fur, you pretty girl!

Congrats!! I know how excited I was when my kennel got folded up and stored away. I didn't get a special treat though. That's a very pretty collar.
Before Mom and Dad leave to go anywhere they tell me like 50 times to be a good girl. Mom learned if she forgets to tell me, the trash is coming out of the trash can and things will be moved around a little bit. Crqazy parents!

Dory, That's fabulous! I'm almost 9 and I still go in my box when my mom leaves. I don't get into anything if I'm out of my box, but I get very nervous and have some anxiety and bark and cry. It seems I feel safe in my box when I am alone. Yes, I know. I'm a bit weird.

Lucky girl being left out, my mum dosn't trust me yet, so I go in my crate when they go out (which is not often thank doG!)

You look very pretty in your new pink collar!

Dory, what a big step that is...we are proud of you, and Teka, who must stay in the crate while we are here alone, is very jealous.

And we love the collar. It is very good with your black fur and shiny eyes.

Congratulations on your big accomplishment, Dory! And thanks to your mom for cheering for the Buckeyes...you might know one of my tricks is to growl when someone says "Michigan" - but we cheered for them to beat the Gators. My mom was pretty confused the whole time. :) Go Big Ten!

That's what Mom always tells us when she leaves in the morning...Guard the house. Penny had to stay in her crate till she was almost FOUR. I've had free run since I was 15 months. That's 'cause I'm a very good girl.

That collar looks great on you...and I'll bet it would be pretty on me too (in case you haven't noticed, I LOVE pink).

Dory - Home alone is a big responsibility. When Mom first left me loose I got into BIG TROUBLE! I ate a sock, broke a flower pot, and one time locked myself in the bathroom and tried to eat the windowsill. But you live and learn. You'll be fine.
