11th hour, 11th day, 11 month...

The story goes that in 1918 World War 1, the Great War as it is sometimes called, ended when an armistice was signed on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Thus Armistice and ultimately Veteran's Day began.

Thank you for everyone who was so supportive about the topic of our last post. Today Dory and I get to spend the day with our favorite veteran, Uncle Harvey who will turn 80 on Wednesday. He was in the Navy and served not only once, but was recalled and served twice in the late 1940's- early 1950's.

We also salute today all of our fellow DWB members who serve in the active military today - we know Peanut will be spending the day with dad. Thanks again for everyones supportive comments.

Thank you for the reminder. I haven't been to a mall (or as I call it, a MAUL) for years, and I couldn't agree with you more.

all the best-

What a great salute! Our Mom's Dad was a veteran of Vietnam and so was her uncle. We definitely support our vets and troops!
